So I am calling this section our site guidelines because I really didn’t know what else to call it. Basically, this is information about our site and policies and all that other fun stuff that I want to make sure people keep in mind when reading our site.
Legal Crapola
Hey, guess what! We’ve gotta do that fun legal stuff. This is my least favorite part about having a website, but it can be pretty necessary. I am not going to go all legalese on anyone here, I am going to make it very simple and easy to understand. Anything content found on this website is copyright Shockblast Media and the author of the piece. Please repost the hell out of it as long as you give us credit. I’d appreciate an email, but simply replying to the article you want to jack with a link would be much appreciated.
We like our work and work pretty hard to put it together. Most sites get pissed when you steal their content. We encourage you to borrow it. We like the fact that people read our work and think highly enough that they want to pass it on, we just want to know about it. We’re super easy going and laid back, and just want to have a good time.
However, if we do find our content out there with no credit and no permission, we reserve the right to send you a very angry email and talk insane amounts of shit about you all over the internet. Our kindness is not a weakness, and while we don’t want to be as vigilant as other websites about protecting their content, we will if we have to.
Scoring System
It is becoming abundantly clear to me that my standards for scoring an album, game, movie, what-have-you, is much, much different then everyone else on the entire inter-Google. In order to save readers the heartache and furor that giving a release a 6 might imply, I want to go ahead and post my take on the scoring system and what it all means to me. Scoring can be on a 10 or 100 point scale depending on my varying mood. Add a zero or drop a decimal to the list below if one of us had a brain fart and used a 100 point scale. It’s all the same, anyway.
0 – WHAT. THE. FUCK.
1 – Epic Failure
2 – A steamy pile of crap
3 – Pretty pathetic
4 – Below Average
5 – Average
6 – Above Average
7 – Pretty solid
8 – Awesome
9 – Incredible to the point of few peers.
10 – Perfection. Genre defining.
There we have it folks, so if you see a 5 on a game you think is a 7 and call average, we’re saying the same thing. 7 is not average. There are 10 number points for a reason, 11 if you count zero.
Spoilers
We’re going to do our best to try and not spoil major plotlines in whatever we review, but it should ALWAYS be assumed that there is going to be the possibility of spoilers in anything we write. Sometimes, there is just no way around it. In making the decision to read a review on our site, or any other site for that matter, you are going to run the risk of spoiling whatever you are reading about. If we receive complaints about spoilers, you’ll be directed to this section of the site, which very well could be why you are reading this now. Hey, sometimes those are just the breaks. We feel bad but it is what it is.
This will be a constantly evolving section based on whatever may arise along the way. I’d prefer to not have to add to it, but the human race can be a funny species, so who knows what will come tomorrow. Stay awesome, and remember, friends don’t let friends listen to Tool.
