Edge Retires From WWE

In somewhat of a surprise announcement, WWE Superstar and 11 time World Champion Edge (Adam Copeland) has announced his retirement from the WWE. The writing has been on the wall for a while, as Edge has hinted publicly that his days as a wrestler were numbered, even telling his hometown crowd in Toronto, Ontario, Canada that it would likely be his last time performing in front of them earlier this year.

As a fan, Edge has always been one of my favorites, going back to the promos they had been running for him before he made his in ring debut. I still remember his first match against some dude in Savio Vega’s old group Los Boricuas, and his first ever offensive move was a spear. He was definitely one of the legends of the WWE, and he will be sorely missed. Everyone here at Shockblast Media wishes Adam nothing but health and happiness in all that he does, and thanks for the memories. Edge goes out as a champion, and for someone that held 31 titles during his career, I couldn’t think of a better way to end it.
