Kimbo Slice Moving On To Boxing

I’ll bet you thought you heard the name Kimbo Slice for the last time, didn’t you? Well, the man just won’t go down without a fight. In an interview with ESPN New York, the real life Kevin Ferguson told reporter Michael Woods that he was thinking about jumping into the world of boxing. Here is what he had to say:
“I feel like a baby all over again,” said the 36-year-old Florida resident. “I’m thinking about this at night. I’m gonna be a problem in the heavyweight division. I’m going to be coming in with a bad demeanor. I want to see what it’s like to break some ribs, break a jaw with one punch.”
You can read the entire article here. I have nothing but respect for Kimbo, and I wish him nothing but success in whatever he does. A lot of MMA fans like to bag on him, but I think he really won people over with his stint on The Ultimate Fighter, as his respect and love for the sport was very evident and really seemed to hit home with a lot of non-believers. With all of that said, all the heart in the world doesn’t change the fact that he has no ground game, his knees are going and he’s not getting any younger.
One thing that can’t be taking away from Kimbo is the fact that he knows how to bang. Moving on to boxing seems to be the perfect transition for the former street fighter turned Youtube sensation. It almost seems like the path he should have taken to begin with. One way or another, this is definitely a situation we will be watching closely.
